Development of high borosilicate 4.0 fire-resistant glass

High borosilicate 4.0 fire-resistant glass is a type of glass developed on the basis of traditional 3.3 high borosilicate glass that is suitable for building safety and fire protection. In 1993, the German company SCHOTT successfully launched high borosilicate float glass. In 2019, Fengyang Kaisheng, a subsidiary of China National Building Materials Group, successfully produced large-sized, high-quality high-boron glass using the float process of full oxygen combustion, electric boosting and platinum modulation systems. Silicon 4.0 fire-resistant glass has achieved major breakthroughs in production technology and product performance, opening a new chapter in China's fire-resistant glass. There are currently two production processes for high borosilicate float glass: (1) Electric melting kiln + float process (2) Oxygen combustion + electric-assisted + platinum tempering system + float process

Performance of high borosilicate 4.0 fireproof glass

High borosilicate 4.0 fire-resistant glass is composed of high boron oxide, so it has a low thermal expansion coefficient and a high softening point. Due to the special physical properties of the original piece, after deep processing and tempering, the fire-resistant performance is significantly better than other fire-resistant glasses. . High borosilicate 4.0 fire-resistant glass 6mm to 12mm fire-resistant glass has been submitted for inspection. According to the burning inspection test method stipulated by the GB/T12513-2006 country, the fire-resistant time exceeds 120min, or even 180min, and still maintains fire-resistant integrity. Through random inspection of actual application cases, the fire protectiontime limit of 60 minutes or more can be easily achieved, and the fire protection performance is stable. Each piece can be randomly inspected. Any installation will not affect the fireprotection performance.

(1) Good thermal shock resistance performance

High borosilicate 4.0 fireproof glass has good thermal shock resistance and thermal shock resistance temperature >200℃. Ordinary glass has poor resistance to rapid cooling and heating, so ordinary single-piece fireproof glass cannot be used with water spray. Only borosilicate can be perfectly combined with water spray - "High borosilicate + water spray = thermal insulation and fireproof glass".

(2)Ultra-high chemical stability

The excellent chemical stability of high borosilicate 4.0 fireproof glass is based on its special glass composition, which can be analyzed and compared from the acid resistance, water resistance and alkali resistance.

(3) Excellent optical performance

The high borosilicate 4.0 fireproof glass formula has high raw material purity, low iron, ultra-white color, high light transmittance, and a visible light transmittance of over 91%. It is precisely because of the ultra-high transmittance and transparency of high borosilicate 4.0 fire-resistant glass that while maintaining the transparency and beauty of the building, it can still ensure people's vision for escape and rescue in the event of a fire. This is a composite Fire-resistant glass cannot be matched by other single-piece fire-resistant glass.

(4) Ultra light and high strength

Because of the special raw material formula and chemical composition of high borosilicate glass, the density of high borosilicate 4.0 glass is 2.3g/cm’, and the density of ordinary soda-lime silicate glass is 2.5g/cm’. Therefore, high borosilicate 4.0 glass is more than 8% lighter than ordinary glass. As a building material, it can significantly reduce the weight of the building. At the same time, because of its special boron-oxygen compound tetrahedral structure, high borosilicate 4.0 glass has ultra-high mechanical strength.

(5) No NiS (nickel sulfide) crystal, eliminating the risk of self-explosion

The raw material formula and production process of high borosilicate glass are nickel-free and low-sulfur. The source of sulfur is trace amounts of sulfur in raw materials and natural gas. No NiS (nickel sulfide) crystals, eliminating the risk of self-explosion. In addition, during the production process of high borosilicate glass raw sheets, the melting temperature is high, the glass liquid is well clarified and more homogeneous, so the glass plate surface has high flatness, there are very few heterogeneous impurities on the plate surface, and the glass tempering quality is higher than ordinary glass.
