What are Excellent Functions of Fire-resistant Glass?

The excellent functions of high-strength single-piece fireproof glass are specifically manifested in the following aspects:

(1) High fireproof function: High-strength single-piece fireproof glass is a curtain wall or door and window glass used for building exterior walls with fireproof function. It can last for 96 to 183 minutes without bursting under the impact of 1000℃ flame, thus effectively preventing the spread of flames and smoke, which is conducive to the first-time detection of fire and giving people enough time to evacuate the scene.

(2) High strength function: Under the same thickness, its strength is 6 to 12 times that of ordinary float glass and 1.5 to 3 times that of tempered glass. Therefore, under the same wind pressure, it can be designed with a thinner thickness or a larger area, thereby increasing the sense of transparency and reducing the cost. Ordinary tempered glass is damaged when the load is 900Kg, but it is not damaged when the load reaches 5500Kg with a deflection of 326mm. The strength of high-strength single-piece fireproof glass is 4 to 6 times that of flat glass of the same thickness and 1.5 to 2 times that of tempered glass of the same thickness. In addition, in case of damage, high-strength single-piece fireproof glass is in the form of small particles and obtuse angles, ensuring that it will not cause great harm to the human body in earthquakes, fires or when subjected to super strong damage.

(3) High weather resistance: Compared with traditional grouting or laminated fireproof glass, high-strength single-piece fireproof glass has the biggest feature of high weather resistance in addition to high strength. Chemical grouting or laminated glass will quickly turn milky white and produce bubbles under ultraviolet light, losing the basic function of glass transparency, which is also the main reason why fireproof glass cannot be used as exterior walls. High-strength single-piece fireproof glass, like ordinary glass, will not change under ultraviolet light.

(3) Processability: High-strength single-piece fireproof glass has good processability. It can be processed into laminated safety glass, insulating glass, coated glass, and point-type curtain wall glass. It can also be used as indoor fire partitions and escape routes. There is a big breakthrough in the single-piece application area, which can reach 3m high and 2m wide, and the installation is also simple.
