There are differences between ordinary explosion-proof glass and reinforced explosion-proof glass in production and processing technology, manufacturing thickness, applicable size and some characteristics.

Production and Processing Technology

• Ordinary type: Made of a single piece of float glass strengthened, after strengthening process, the impact resistance of the glass surface is enhanced. 

• Strengthened type: Use two or more pieces of float glass, press the PVB film with a hot press and remove the air in the middle, then put it into a high-pressure steam kettle, and use high temperature and high pressure to melt the residual air in the glass into the film.

Production Thickness

The maximum thickness of the ordinary type can be made to 20mm. If the thickness of the explosion-proof glass exceeds 20mm, it is difficult to strengthen it in one go, so must choose carefully.

The thickness of the film used in the enhanced type has several specifications: 0.76mm, 1.14mm, and 1.52mm. The thicker the film, the better the explosion-proof effect of the explosion-proof glass.

Features and Effects

• Ordinary type: The explosion-proof effect increases with the thickness of the glass.

• Strengthened type: High safety. The PVB material used in the middle layer is tough and has good adhesion. It can withstand strong impacts and fragments will not fall off. Its safety performance is 20 times that of ordinary float glass. When it is hit violently by hard objects, only cracks will be seen, and the glass is intact and smooth to the touch.It has multiple functions. Compared with ordinary glass and ordinary safety glass, it has more diverse functions, such as explosion-proof, bullet-proof, earthquake-resistant, anti-theft, and anti-ultraviolet.
